June 11th, Leaders of Second Bureau for the Administration of Corporate Executives of SASAC announced Song Zhiping is appointed as external director and chairman of China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm Group) on a meeting of managerial personnel at middle and senior level of Sinopharm Group. It is the first time for SASAC to name a leader of central enterprise as a external director and chairman of the board of another central enterprise, an exploration of the board of central enterprises reform pilot.

Mr. Zhang Zhiqiang, deputy director of Second Bureau for the Administration of Corporate Executives of SASAC, announced the nomination. Mr. Jiang Zhigang, director of Second Bureau for the Administration of Corporate Executives of SASAC, delivered an important speech. He pointed it is a major event in the processing of the board of central enterprises reform pilot that Mr. Song Zhiping holds the office of external chairman of Sinopharm Group as well as chairman of CNBM.
