CNBM Attracts Strategic Investment to Build Flagship in Rotor Blade Industry in China

March 30th 2010, CNBM, Hony Capital, Goldman Sachs (Asia) Ltd, and Jiangsu High-tech Investment Group held a signing ceremony for a strategic investment project, which marked the commencement of China Composites 3MW 5M blade project and the initiation of 5MW blade project in Lianyungang, Jiangsu. CNBM kicked off its flagship voyage in rotor blade industry in China.

Zhang Dingjin, vice president of CNBM and the chairman of China Composites, Qiu Zhongwei, director and general manager of Hony Capital, Sun Yanjun, director and general manager of Goldman Sachs (Asia) Ltd, and Zhangwei, president of Jiangsu High-tech Investment Group signed strategic investment agreement on behalf of shareholders. Hony Capital, Goldman Sachs (Asia) Ltd, and Jiangsu High-tech Investment Group will invest USD100 million to Zhongfu Lianzhong Composites Group Co. Ltd. and receive 30% share rights. Hony Capital takes 16% share rights.

Zhongfu Lianzhong 3MW 55M rotor blade project has commenced on the event day. With its 2.3 meters root diameter and maximum 4 meters wide blade, this 13.5 tonnes rotor blade will be the most powerful and longest in China. For the purpose of exploring offshore wind energy and increasing international competitiveness, Zhongfu Lianzhong will commence the design of 5MW 62M rotor blade with its aerodynamic configuration design to be completed in May, then launch manufacturing in November. This design will be used in Class I wind area and is expected to be the world`s longest one.
